UPDATE: I-84/I-86 Interchange closure postponed due to arriving storm
BURLEY - Road breakup repairs at the Interstate 84/Interstate 86 interchange will be postponed until further notice with an expected winter storm halting the scheduled work on Wednesday (Feb. 24), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The roadway breakup will require a substantial patch on the eastbound ramp of the Interstate 84/Interstate 86 interchange and will require closure of the eastbound ramp for several hours. The work will be delayed until at least Thursday, but could be delayed until the week of March 1.
When work does resume, the ramp closure will require traffic to detour through Pocatello via Interstate 86 and Interstate 15 to Tremonton, Utah.
ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
