ADVISORY: I-84/I-86 Interchange closure, detour to Pocatello scheduled for Monday (March 1)
BURLEY - Repair of roadway breakup on the eastbound ramp of the Interstate 84/Interstate 86 Interchange has been rescheduled to take place on Monday (March 1). The repairs will require closure of the ramp for several hours, forcing traffic to go through Pocatello, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

While work is still dependent on weather, state crews are expecting to grind off and replace a significant section of asphalt on the ramp toward Salt Lake City. Temporary patching has not been able to keep the roadway intact through winter and until warmer temperatures arrive. Work is expected to take place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Interstate traffic will be detoured onto Interstate 86 eastbound to Pocatello then south on Interstate 15 to Tremonton, north of Salt Lake City. The detour through Pocatello will add about 60 miles.

Local traffic is advised to use Idaho 77 and 81 through Declo during the road work.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution and watch for crew members and equipment entering or leaving the work zone. For up-to-date project information, motorists are encouraged to dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov.
