Overnight lane restrictions planned on I-84 between Ten Mile and Black Cat this week
BOISE -  Interstate 84 will be restricted at night March 9-12 while the Idaho Transportation Department prepares to construct new lanes between Ten Mile and Black Cat roads.

  • Eastbound I-84 will be reduced to one lane on Tuesday and Thursday nights (March 9 and 11).
  • Westbound I-84 will be reduced to one lane on Wednesday and Friday nights (March 10 and 12).

The restrictions will occur between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. (and until 7 a.m. on Saturday morning). Restrictions will alternate between the inside and outside lanes.

During the restrictions, crews will re-stripe, move guardrail and shift traffic toward the shoulder. The work will be rescheduled in the case of rain.

A new eastbound lane and westbound lane will then be constructed this spring/summer between Ten Mile and Black Cat roads.

When complete, I-84 will have three lanes in both directions for six miles between the Garrity and Meridian interchanges. The first five miles opened late last year.
