Idaho 21 section re-opens as avalanche danger lessens

BOISE - Idaho 21 has re-opened between Grandjean Junction and Banner Summit as avalanche danger has been reduced. The Idaho Transportation Department advised that the 11-mile stretch of highway that closed Friday at 7:30 p.m. due to avalanche danger was re-opened today at 3 p.m.

A cold front is expected later in the week in that area, which should help further stabilize the slide region.

Motorists are encouraged to check the state's Traveler Information Service at 511.idaho.gov for conditions.
