Westbound I-84 shifted slightly to shoulder tonight (Thursday, March 11) for work at Vista and I-84
BOISE - Westbound interstate travelers can expect slight delays tonight (Thursday, March 11) between the Vista and Cole/Overland interchanges.

At the Vista Interchange, crews will modify the westbound I-84 on-ramp. The change will give motorists more room to merge onto I-84. Motorists can expect slight delays during this work.

Between the Vista and Cole/Overland interchanges, traffic will be shifted slightly toward the shoulder. This change will allow crews to safely work in the median.

All work will take place from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The Idaho Transportation Department is reconstructing the Vista Interchange and widening I-84 to four lanes in both directions.

The Vista Interchange project is expected to be completed in late summer 2010. The $17.8 million widening project is expected to be completed in summer 2011.

ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
