Chinden restricted near Caldwell Monday and Tuesday to tie road into rebuilt railroad crossing
BOISE
- Crews will be tying the existing roadway into the new railroad crossing with
a mill-and-inlay project on U.S. 20/26 (Chinden Boulevard) near Caldwell on Monday and Tuesday (March 15-16). The work will extend 130 feet to
the east and 120 feet to the west of milepost 28, where Union Pacific
Railroad crews rebuilt the crossing last Sunday, March 7.
To blend the roadway into the rebuilt crossing, the road will be reduced to one
lane of travel with flaggers. Weather permitting, Western Construction crews
will do the rotomill work on Monday and Central Paving will pave on Tuesday.
The crossing is
located at milepost 28 (about halfway between Middleton Road and Midway
Boulevard adjacent to a metal fabrication warehouse).
State crews plan on setting up traffic control by 9 a.m. Monday and being done
by 4 p.m. each day.
