I-84 westbound between Robinson and Garrity reduced to one lane overnight tonight (Monday, March 15)
BOISE - The Idaho Transportation Department advises motorists on I-84 westbound
between the Robinson Road Overpass and Garrity Boulevard Interchange that I-84
will be reduced to one lane overnight
tonight (Monday, March 15) in that area for the relocation of concrete
barrier so that crews can work in the median. The work is weather dependent.
The highway will be reduced to one lane from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. The stretch will
open back up to two lanes by Tuesday morning's commute.
I-84 westbound is now reduced to two lanes in that area for the next few months
as crews prepare to shift traffic to the median. In addition, I-84's westbound
off-ramp at the Garrity Interchange has been reduced to one lane. This
configuration also is expected to last the next few months. Additional signage
at Robinson will provide advanced warning to drivers of the configuration at
the ramp.
The
speed limit has been lowered to 35 mph on Garrity Boulevard and 55 mph on I-84
through the construction zones.
ITD and the Idaho State Police caution
motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where
increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to
plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state
highway or interstate system.
