Expect minor delays at U.S. 95, Lancaster and Bentz roads intersections for utility work Thursday
COEUR D'ALENE - Motorists can expect minor delays as Avista Utilities continues to relocate a transmission line along U.S. 95 at the highway's intersections with Lancaster and Bentz roads, on Thursday (March 18), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Avista will be pulling a transmission line across U.S. 95 on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the intersections of U.S. 95 and Lancaster and Bentz roads. Traffic on U.S. 95 will be stopped for 2-3 minute intervals, approximately three times. Traffic on Lancaster and Bentz also will be affected.
The transmission line is located north of Hayden on state right-of-way, which is part of the U.S. 95 Wyoming to Idaho 53 highway widening known locally as "the Gap" project.
The $6 million project will widen approximately two miles of U.S. 95 to four lanes.
ITD and the Idaho
State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in
work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists
are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for
information on the state highway or interstate system.
