I-84 lanes will shift to the right Sunday and Monday mornings (March 21-22) between Vista and Broadway interchanges
BOISE - The
east- and westbound lanes of I-84 will be moved slightly to the right on Sunday
and Monday mornings (March 21-22) between the Vista and Broadway interchanges.
The Idaho Transportation Department reminds interstate travelers to pay
attention to the new lane striping.
- Eastbound I-84 will be shifted
toward the shoulder on Sunday morning (March 21).
- Westbound I-84 will be shifted
toward the shoulder on Monday morning (March 22).
Shifting traffic
will leave room for crews to work in the median. Both shifts will take place by 5 a.m. This work is weather
dependent.
ITD is widening
I-84 to four lanes in both directions between the Cole and Broadway
interchanges.
Two lanes are
open in both directions between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m. on weekdays, and between 7
a.m. and 10 p.m. on weekends. One lane may be closed at night.
The speed limit is 55 mph during the day and 45 mph during nighttime lane
restrictions.
Concrete Placing
Company is the contractor for the $35.9 million widening project, which is
expected to be complete in summer 2011.
ITD and the
Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving
in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov
for information on the state highway or interstate system.
