One lane closed on Orchard Street Bridge Tuesday morning (March 23)
BOISE - Motorists should expect one lane to be closed on the Orchard Street Bridge over I-84 on Tuesday morning (March 23). The Idaho Transportation Department is reconstructing the interchange.
The right northbound lane will be closed from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Tuesday while crews restripe the area, build a new island and pour new curb, gutter and sidewalk.
The new Orchard Interchange, which will include longer on- and off-ramps and improved roadways around the ramps, is on schedule for a spring 2010 completion.
ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow
down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding
fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and
dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or
interstate system.
