I-84 westbound slab repair from Cloverdale to Meridian starts Tuesday (March 30)
BOISE - Old
concrete slabs on the interstate between Cloverdale and Meridian will be
repaired in a project starting Tuesday (March 30).
This section of I-84 contains some of the original interstate built in the
1960s.
Normal wear-and-tear has deteriorated the concrete slabs over time. This work
will add years to the life expectancy of the highway, and restore a smoother
riding surface for motorists.
Work will begin in the westbound lanes, closing the two lanes farthest to the
right. This work will continue in the westbound lanes, then switch and
progress eastbound.
Crews will work 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to accommodate the morning and evening
commutes. Work by State Maintenance Forces will occur Tuesday, Wednesday and
Thursday of each week until the three-mile stretch is completed.
The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph in the work zone.
