New Jerome traffic signal nearing completion
JEROME - Drivers should be aware early next week of several changes near the area of
a new signalized intersection at the eastbound Interstate 84 off-ramp in
south Jerome, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The signal is scheduled to be tested for timing and traffic detection beginning Tuesday (April 20), but prior to initiation of the signal, crews will be painting
new lines and adding directional pavement markings.
Drivers should be aware that the intersection will continue to be controlled by
stop signs or be open to through traffic until the signal is activated.
Lane restrictions and short delays may still take place through the conclusion
of work, or until the contractor has left the construction site. Drivers should
use caution through the work zone and be mindful of workers and equipment.
Kleopfer Inc., of Burley, is the contractor for the $265,000 federally funded
project.
ITD and the Idaho State Police caution
motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where
increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to
plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state
highway or interstate system.
