TRAFFIC ALERT: Expect rush-hour congestion and delays this evening at I-84's Garrity Interchange in Nampa
BOISE - Motorists can expect heavy congestion and delays near the Garrity Interchange around 5 p.m. today (Tuesday, April 20) due to unusually high traffic volumes for the Get Motivated Business Seminar at the Idaho Center today.
Officials expect the event to let out about 5 p.m. - just as commuters are going home. If you use the
Garrity Interchange for your evening commute, you may want to consider using an
alternate route.
More than 10,000 people are attending the event. For most
Idaho Center events, there are usually two or more people per vehicle. However,
for the Get Motivated Business Seminar
most attendees have traveled to the event by themselves, meaning the number of cars in the
area is more than double that for a typical Idaho Center event.
ITD and the
Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when
driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties
apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit
511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
