Airport Way restrictions will begin Monday, continue until mid-June

BOISE The Idaho Transportation Department will close a lane of Airport Way on Monday (May 3), allowing workers to widen the roadway from three to four lanes.

Drivers on Airport Way will have one lane in each direction but no dedicated turn lanes for the next two months.

The Airport Way and Vista Avenue intersection will be flagged at 9 p.m. Monday while electrical crews re-program traffic signals for the temporary configuration.

Construction in this area is part of ITDs $17.8 million project to reconstruct and improve the Vista Interchange. The project is on schedule for a fall 2010 completion.

ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
