Nightly I-84 restrictions will continue through May between Cole and Broadway interchanges
BOISE - Concrete paving is in full production on I-84 in east Boise. Motorists can expect overnight lane restrictions to continue through May.
If weather cooperates, the Idaho Transportation Department plans to pour 11,000 cubic yards of concrete for new lanes between the Cole and Broadway interchanges.
One east- and westbound lane will be closed in both directions at night (10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on weeknights, and 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. on weekends).
ITD is widening the interstate to four lanes in both directions between the Cole and Broadway interchanges. Crews are paving the new eastbound and westbound travel lanes and shoulder this month.
The speed limit will be 55 mph during the day and 45 mph during night-time lane restrictions.
A width restriction of 14 feet is in effect.
ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow
down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding
fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and
dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or
interstate system.
