Public invited to offer suggestions on I-15, I-86 at May 24 meeting
BOISE - The Idaho Transportation Department is holding an open house
to gather comment on improvements the public would like to see made to sections of I-15 and I-86.
The meeting, on Monday, May 24, will focus on the I-15 corridor from the McCammon Interchange (Exit 47) to York Road (Exit 13) and the I-86 corridor from the West American Falls Interchange (Exit 36) to the "Y" junction with I-15.
The open house is part of an effort to create a 20-year plan that will identify short-term and long-term improvements. Any improvements made to the routes will be designed to meet existing and future driving needs.
The meeting will be from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Pocatello City Hall, 911 North 7th Avenue. The public is invited to drop by any time between those hours. Staff will be available to answer questions and take comments.
For additional information, please contact Chris Peirsol, ITD project manager, at Chris.Peirsol@itd.idaho.gov or at 1-208-239-3369.
ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
