Eagle Road westbound ramp to I-84 to close tonight for repairs
BOISE - The westbound on-ramp leading from Eagle Road to I-84, toward Nampa/Caldwell, will be closed tonight (Tuesday, May 11) as crews repair and pave over a soft spot in the road.

"If we didn't do this now, and just paved over the top of it, we'd be back out here within a year to fix it," said Idaho Transportation Department Project Manager Kelley Lower.

The closure is expected to start at 8:30 p.m. and take several hours, but the exact duration of the closure will not be known until crews are able to assess the full extent of the needed repairs.

The soft spot is about 24 by 30 feet wide and about 18 inches deep.

Electronic message boards to announce the closure will be placed near St. Luke's Road for southbound Eagle Road traffic and at the southern end of the project for traffic going northbound on Eagle.

Southbound traffic will be detoured across the bridge to Overland Road, west on Overland to Meridian Road, then north on Meridian to the interstate. Northbound traffic will be detoured across the bridge and north to Franklin Road, then west to Meridian Road and south to the freeway.
