UPDATE: Idaho 32 reopened after fatality
RIGBY ‑ Idaho 32, which closed in the aftermath of a fatal crash earlier this afternoon, has been reopened, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. It had been closed between its junction with Idaho 33 and two miles south of its junction with Idaho 47. It is now reopened with flaggers controlling traffic as cleanup continues.
The crash occurred at about 11:10 a.m. at milepost 17. A woman died when the tanker truck she was driving rolled on a corner of eastbound Idaho 32.
The 10‑wheel truck was carrying a 3,000‑gallon tank half full of liquid fertilizer. Diesel fuel and fertilizer are strewn along the highway. Hazardous‑spill crews are enroute.
The truck was completely destroyed after sliding down the highway and coming to rest on the shoulder.
