Traffic control measures set for U.S. Girls Junior Championship

BOISE - Spectators coming to BanBury Golf Club for the 2005 U.S. Girls Junior Championship golf tournament should use the Locust Grove-Chinden intersection to access event parking, the Eagle Police Department and Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Traffic control measures for the tournament go into effect at 6 a.m. Saturday (July 16) and will remain in place through 6 p.m. Saturday, July 23.

Were looking for the general public to make Locust Grove and Chinden the main access instead of coming in off Eagle Road, said Steve Bartlett of the Eagle Police Department, traffic coordinator for the tournament.

Parking for the event will be off of Locust Grove Road, one mile west of Eagle Road. Shuttle buses will take spectators from the parking lot to the tournament. Parking will not be allowed along Eagle Road.

During the tournament, motorists will not be able to make a left turn from Eagle Road onto Oakhampton Drive to get to BanBury. Traffic entering and leaving the golf club from Eagle Road will be right-turn-in, right-turn-out only.

Electronic message signs will be placed in the area to assist motorists.
