Idaho 21 traffic managed by pilot cars during fire-fighting times
BOISE Traffic on Idaho 21 will continue to be guided by flaggers and pilot cars from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. while crews work to contain the Gregory Fire, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. Motorists traveling between Boise and Idaho City on Idaho 21 can expect delays up to 20-minutes.

Between the east end of Idaho City through the fire-fighting zone (mileposts 34-38) helicopters are loading water from the ponds near Idaho 21. Transportation department staff is managing traffic in the area for the safety of the helipcopter crews and the traveling public.

Because of the fire-fighting activities, truck traffic turning on and off of Idaho 21 is greatly increased. Motorists should slow down and use extra caution driving in the area.

The pilot cars will guide traffic in the area as long as required by these safety concerns.
