I-84 eastbound on/off ramps at Heyburn Interchange to be closed Sunday (June 6)
BURLEY - Eastbound Interstate 84 traffic will need to plan for the closure of Exit 211 on- and off-ramps between Burley and Declo on Sunday (June 6) .

Crews will reconstruct the roadway through the interchange on the closed lanes before reopening the ramps, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Only the eastbound on- and off-ramps will be closed while crews complete this section of roadway rehabilitation. Exit 211, which is a primary access to Heyburn, Rupert and the east side of Burley, will be closed from approximately 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

Eastbound traffic will be required to use the Burley interchange (Exit 207) or the Declo interchange (Exit 216) to access the area. Westbound on- and off-ramps will remain open during this phase of the construction project.

The closure is part of an approximately 15-mile, full-width rehabilitation project of I-84 between mileposts 207 and 222 being performed by two contractors.

Knife River Corporation Northwest of Boise is the contractor for the section between the Burley and Declo interchanges (milepost 207 to 216) at a cost of $12.8 million, which includes bridge work at the Heyburn overpass interchange (exit 211).

Drivers are urged to follow all traffic-control devices throughout the construction zone. Drivers are reminded to yield to through traffic while entering I-84 and use extreme caution to avoid existing potholing and rutting. The speed limit has been reduced to 45 miles per hour through the construction zone.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
