I-84 eastbound on/off ramps at Declo Interchange to be closed Friday
BURLEY -  Eastbound Interstate 84 traffic will have a closure at Exit 216 on Friday (June 11) due to roadway rehabilitation between Burley and the Interstate 86 junction. The off-ramp will be closed as crews reconstruct the roadway leading to the interchange. The work will provide motorists with a smoother, safer ride and extend the life of the roadway.

The Idaho Transportation Department advises that only the eastbound off-ramp will be closed while crews complete this section of roadway rehabilitation. Exit 216, a primary access to Declo and the east side of Cassia County, will be closed from approximately 7 a.m. to midnight Friday.

Eastbound traffic will be required to use the Heyburn Interchange (Exit 211) or the Yale Road interchange (Exit 227) to Idaho 81 to access the area. The eastbound on-ramp and westbound on- and off-ramps will remain open during this phase of the construction project.

The closure is part of an approximately 15-mile, full-width rehabilitation project of I-84 between mileposts 207 to 222 being performed by two contractors.

Knife River Corporation Northwest of Boise is the contractor for the section between the Burley and Declo interchanges (milepost 207 to 216) at a cost of $12.8 million which includes a bridge work to the Heyburn overpass interchange (exit 211).

Drivers are urged to follow all traffic-control devices throughout the construction zone. Drivers are reminded to yield to through traffic while entering I-84 and use extreme caution to avoid existing potholing and rutting.

The speed limit has been reduced to 45 mph through the construction zone.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
