11th Avenue Bridge work in Nampa requires overnight lane reductions on I-84 tonight
NAMPA - Work is progressing on the 11th Avenue bridge over Interstate 84 in Nampa.
Tonight (Tuesday, July 6), Idaho Transportation Department crews will pour concrete supports to help
bear the weight of the bridge deck, requiring overnight lane reductions for interstate
traffic.
I-84 will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 10 p.m. tonight until 5 a.m. tomorrow (Wednesday) morning.
The 11th Avenue bridge will remain closed until late summer. Reconstruction of the bridge is required to accommodate future lanes on I-84. A project to add one lane in each direction on I-84 between Franklin Boulevard and Garrity Boulevard began this week. Construction on the widening is scheduled to be complete by early summer 2012.
McAlvain Civil Constructors the contractor on the $4.1
million 11th Avenue Bridge project.
The bridge reconstruction and I-84 widening projects are
among several interstate improvements occurring in an 18-mile stretch of I-84,
funded by the GARVEE Transportation Program. The program uses proceeds from
