I-84 eastbound off-ramp at Heyburn Interchange to be closed Saturday through Monday
BURLEY - As part of the rehabilitation of Interstate 84, crews will be completing a bridge deck rehabilitation on the eastbound bridge at the Heyburn Interchange (Exit 211).

The
Idaho Transportation Department advises that work will require the closure of the Exit 211 eastbound off-ramp Saturday through Monday (July 10-12).

Exit 211, a primary access to Heyburn, Rupert and the east side of Burley, will be closed from approximately 4 a.m. on Saturday through 5 a.m. on Monday.

Only the eastbound off-ramp will be closed while crews complete the work. Eastbound traffic will be required to use the Burley Interchange (Exit 207) or the Declo Interchange (Exit 216) to access the area. Westbound on- and off-ramps will remain open during this portion of the construction project.

The closure is part of an approximately 15-mile, full-width rehabilitation of I-84 between mileposts 207 to 222.

Knife River Corporation Northwest of Boise is the contractor for the section between the Burley and Declo interchanges (milepost 207 to 216) at a cost of $12.8 million and includes the bridge work at the Heyburn overpass interchange (exit 211).

Drivers are urged to follow all traffic-control devices throughout the construction zone. Drivers are reminded to yield to through traffic while entering I-84 and use extreme caution to avoid existing potholing and rutting. The speed limit has been reduced to 45 miles per hour through the construction zone.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
