Dedication ceremony Wednesday (Sept. 14) celebrates completion of East-West Loop and beautification projects in McCall
BOISE - The public is invited to join City of McCall officials, Idaho Transportation Department staff and construction and consultant representatives 11 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 14) to celebrate the completion of the McCall East-West Loop and Four Corners Beautification projects, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The ceremony will be held on the new Payette River Bridge of the East-West Loop on Deinhard Lane.

The McCall East-West Loop extends Deinhard Lane to the intersection of West Valley and Boydstun Street.  It provides a new east-west connection over the North Fork of the Payette River to reduce traffic congestion in McCall and provide additional emergency response access.  M.A. Deatley of Clarkston, Washington is the contractor for the $6.7 million project.

The Four Corners Beautification project installed sidewalks, landscaping and irrigation at the intersection of Idaho 55 and Deinhard Lane, creating an aesthetically pleasing gateway to the City of McCall.  Hillside Landscape of Boise built the $380,000 project, made possible through federal enhancement funding.

Speakers at the ceremony include:
  •     Charles L. Winder, Idaho Transportation Board Chairman
  •     Kirk Eimers, Mayor of McCall
  •     Ken Roberts, District 8 State Representative
  •     Dave Sparks, McCall Fire Chief
  •     David Ekern, Director, Idaho Transportation Department

Following the ceremony, dignitaries will ride across the bridge in emergency response vehicles.  Bicyclists will also cross the bridge on the new bicycle/pedestrian lane.

To attend the ceremony, travel west on Deinhard Lane from Idaho 55.  Look for the barricade at the end of Deinhard Lane where it intersects with Mission Street.  Volunteers will assist with parking
