Bridgework to close Idaho 33 overnight Sept 21-22
RIGBY - Idaho 33 east of Newdale will be closed from 9 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 21) until 8 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 22), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The closure will allow the contractor to use the old Canyon Creek Bridge as a platform to pour the center section of the new bridge. Once the pour is complete, the old bridge will reopen to traffic.
Alternate routes are Idaho 32 from Ashton to Tetonia or Idaho 31 over Pine Creek Pass from Victor to Swan Valley.
Work continues on the realignment of Idaho 33 on both sides of the new bridge. The new roadway and bridge deck will be paved this fall and seal coated next summer. Sletten Construction of Great Falls, Mont. is the contractor on this $4.3 million project.
