U.S. 95 open to single lane of traffic over White Bird Bridge
LEWISTON - The White Bird Bridge on U.S. 95, about 16 miles south of Grangeville, opened to a single lane of traffic early this afternoon, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. Traffic is controlled by flaggers.
A semi-truck crash on the bridge blocked both lanes of the bridge early this morning when it overturned and spilled some of its cargo. Traffic was delayed about five hours because of the crash.
Crews hope to have traffic fully restored later this afternoon. Until then, motorists should expect brief delays and are urged to use caution traveling through the area.
