I-84 westbound on-ramp at Declo Interchange to be closed Friday
BURLEY - Crews will begin pulverizing the existing surface of the westbound Declo Interchange on-ramp (Exit 216) Friday (Aug. 6) as part of a full-width rehabilitation project on Interstate 84, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Only the westbound on-ramp will be closed while crews complete the work. Exit 216, a primary access to Declo and the east side of Rupert, will be closed Friday from approximately 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Westbound traffic will be required to enter I-84 at the Heyburn Interchange (Exit 211) or the Burley Interchange (Exit 208). Eastbound on- and off-ramps will remain open during this portion of the construction project.

The closure is part of an approximately 15-mile, full-width rehabilitation project of I-84 between mileposts 207 and 222.

Knife River Corporation Northwest of Boise is the contractor for the section between the Burley and Declo interchanges (milepost 207 to 216) at a cost of $12.8 million. The project includes bridge work at the Heyburn Overpass Interchange (exit 211).

ITD and the Idaho State Police advise motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
