I-84 westbound on-ramp at Heyburn Interchange to be closed several days next week
BURLEY - Motorists should plan an alternate route as crews perform deck rehabilitation on the westbound bridge at the Heyburn Interchange (Exit 211) starting Tuesday (Aug. 10).
The Idaho Transportation Department advises that the westbound on-ramp will be closed Tuesday beginning at about 6 a.m. until about 5 a.m Thursday (Aug. 12). Westbound traffic will be required to enter I-84 at the Declo Interchange (Exit 216) or the Burley Interchange (Exit 208).
Crews will clean and apply a concrete deck sealant to the bridge surface. The closure is part of an approximately 15-mile, full-width rehabilitation project of I-84 between mileposts 207 and 222.
Knife River Corporation Northwest, of Boise, is the contractor for the section between the Burley and Declo interchanges (milepost 207 to 216) at a cost of $12.8 million and includes the bridge work at the Heyburn overpass interchange (exit 211).
ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
