UPDATE: I-84 westbound Declo Interchange on-ramp closure extended
BURLEY - The reconstruction of Interstate 84 through the Declo Interchange will extend the closure of the westbound on-ramp through the coming weekend (Aug. 14-15), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
As part of two projects to rebuild I-84 between Burley and the I-84/I-86 Interchange, crews will be performing roadway rehabilitation through the westbound on-ramp, closing it to traffic. Work will include concrete paving east of the Snake River and asphalt paving west of the Snake River.
Only the westbound on-ramp will be closed while crews complete the work. The closure will continue from approximately 6 a.m. on Wednesday through Monday. Opening of the ramp will depend on the strength of the concrete roadway.
Westbound traffic will be required to enter I-84 at the Burley Interchange (Exit 208) or Heyburn Interchange (Exit 211). Eastbound on- and off-ramps will remain open during this portion of the construction project.
Knife River Corporation Northwest of Boise is the contractor for the section between the Burley and Declo interchanges (milepost 207 to 216) at a cost of $12.8 million. This includes bridge work at the Heyburn Interchange (Exit 211).
Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction Company of Draper, Utah, is the contractor for the section between the Declo Interchange and the I-84/I-86 junction (milepost 216 to 222) at a cost of $9.3 million.
