Pole Line Road west of Grandview Drive to be closed next week
TWIN FALLS - Throughout construction of the U.S. 93/Twin Falls Alternate Route west from Twin Falls, Pole Line Road has remained open to local traffic to access homes and farms. But it is time for work to connect the new construction with the road going into Twin Falls.
Closure of Pole Line Road and 2700 East Road (Sunway) will begin on Monday (Aug. 30), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The section of road is expected to reopen to traffic by Friday (Sept. 3).
Drivers living or working north of Pole Line Road will be required to use Canyon Rim Road (4200 North Road) east to Grandview Drive. Local traffic accessing homes south of Pole Line will be diverted south and east on Falls Avenue.
Crews will be completing work on sub-grade construction and begin placement of road base material in preparation for asphalt paving which is expected to take place later this fall.
When complete, the $26.6 million U.S. 93 Alternate Route will connect north Twin Falls with the U.S. 93/U.S. 30 junction west of Twin Falls. The project is under contract with W.W. Clyde Inc., of Springville, Utah.
The roadway is expected to be complete by early 2011.
