Construction on North Washington Street in Twin Falls adjusting for start of school
TWIN FALLS - Construction crews have been busy trying to complete the reconstruction of Washington Street near Canyon Ridge High School, but unforeseeable delays have postponed work and pushed it into the first couple weeks of the fall semester. Drivers need to be prepared for changes at the North College intersection beginning Tuesday (Sept. 7).

The new traffic signal at North College will be set to flash red stop lights in all directions, creating a four-way stop
to allow for safe travel after the school term begins, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. Flaggers will be positioned at the intersection to assist with traffic movement during the busiest times, before and after school, each day.

Crews are completing concrete work, preparing for final paving and installing median landscaping between Northstar Avenue and Cheney Drive. Unforeseen design changes to the storm-water collection system caused construction and paving on North College Road west of Washington to be delayed.

The North College traffic signal will resume a normal cycle once paving and roadway striping are complete. Drivers are reminded to use caution through the construction zone and watch for shifting traffic patterns and temporary traffic control signs until the reconstructed section is opened to normal traffic.

DEBCO Construction, of Orofino, is the contractor for the $6.5 million project sponsored by the city of Twin Falls. The federally funded project is administered by ITD.
