Interstate 84 to close Sept. 10 and 11 between Meridian and Garrity
BOISE - All lanes of I-84 will be closed between the Meridian and Garrity interchanges overnight Sept. 10 and 11 for work on the future Ten Mile Interchange.

The Idaho Transportation Department will detour traffic to Franklin Road both nights between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.

The overnight detours will allow crews to begin removing the falsework structure that supports the bridge during construction.

Updated information will be posted to 511.idaho.gov and the 5-1-1 phone line.

The I-84, Ten Mile Interchange will help reduce congestion at the Meridian and Garrity interchanges as well as local roads. The $33.8 million project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2011.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
