U.S. 30 road work through Hagerman to take place this week
SHOSHONE - A road preservation project on U.S. 30, through the city of Hagerman, is expected to begin Wednesday (Sept. 8), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. Drivers should be prepared for delays and temporary closures to local streets during the project.
Crews will begin milling the roadway before completing an overlay paving operation on U.S. 30/State Street between North Avenue and 2700 South Road. Work is expected to last about a week.
During the road work, U.S. 30 will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Drivers should watch for flaggers and be prepared for delays of as long as 10 minutes. Closure of intersecting city streets will take place for short periods during the milling operation and for multiple hours during paving.
Drivers are advised to use caution when driving through the work zone while the surface is grooved. Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes, if possible. No parking will be permitted during working hours between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Idaho Sand and Gravel, of Jerome, is the contractor for the $269,000 preservation project.
