Eastbound I-84 to be restricted at night near Ten Mile Interchange this week
Restrictions will begin at 10 p.m. and end at 5 a.m. overnight on Tuesday, Wednesday and
Thursday nights (Sept. 7-9).
The week will
end with a full interstate closure between 10 p.m. Friday (Sept. 10) and 7 a.m.
Saturday (Sept. 11). A second interstate closure is scheduled for the same
hours on Saturday night.
The transportation department is building a new interchange with on- and off-ramps
at Ten Mile road. The project will relieve congestion at the Meridian and
Garrity interchanges and on local roads.
The interchange
is expected to fully open in Summer 2011.
ITD and the
Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving
in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov
for information on the state highway or interstate system.
