Bridge deck repairs on Sand Creek Bridge (U.S. 95) to begin Sunday night (Sept. 26)
COEUR d'ALENE -- Idaho Transportation Department crews will begin repairing the Sand Creek Bridge deck on U.S. 95 at the Wye interchange north of Sandpoint beginning Sunday night (Sept. 26). The work will be done at night to lessen the impact to motorists.
Night time work hours are 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday morning (Sept. 26-29). Traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 14-foot width restriction. Flaggers will guide traffic through the work zone area.
In addition to repairing the bridge deck, crews also will replace the bridge joints.
ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
