Interagency Working Group to meet Oct. 4 in Boise
BOISE - The Interagency Working Group (IWG) will meet in Boise on Oct. 4, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The meeting will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Idaho Commission on Aging, 3380 American Terrace.

IWG's mission is to provide leadership in developing coordinated, responsible and integrated public transportation systems in Idaho.

The meeting will feature a presentation on the reauthorization of federal highway and transit funding signed by President Bush in August.
The Safe, Accountable, Flexible and Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU) will provide $286.4 billion in guaranteed spending for highways, rail and transit programs over six years.

Other agenda items include an IWG draft work plan and an April 2006 coordination meeting.

IWG members include representatives from the transportation department, Division of Medicaid, Community Transportation Association of Idaho, Commission on Aging, Department of Health and Welfare, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Department of Commerce and Labor, Department of Education, Council on Developmental Disabilities, Idaho Head Start Association and the Office of the Governor.
