Westbound I-84 on-ramp at Broadway Interchange will be closed this weekend (Oct. 15-18)
BOISE - The westbound on-ramp at the Broadway Interchange will be closed for reconstruction this weekend (8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15 to 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Motorists wanting to enter westbound I-84 at Broadway will be re-directed onto
eastbound I-84, where they will travel a few miles to the Gowen Interchange to turn around and
access westbound I-84. Access ITD's Facebook page here for a map of the detour.
The on-ramp will be raised 16 inches over the weekend to match the new westbound lanes on I-84.
ITD is widening and reconstructing I-84 between the Broadway and Cole/Overland interchanges. I-84 will be eight lanes wide when the project is completed in summer 2011.
ITD and the Idaho State Police advise motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where
increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to
plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state
highway or interstate system.
