I-84 Declo Interchange on-ramp to be closed Thursday
BURLEY - Crews will shift work and traffic across the westbound Interstate 84 bridge near the Declo Interchange later this week. The shift requires the westbound on-ramp to be closed at Exit 216 for one day and requires a traffic detour, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The Exit 216 on-ramp will close Thursday (Nov. 11) while crews relocate the protective concrete barrier running through the construction zone. The closure may be rescheduled to Monday if delayed by weather.

Bridge maintenance work will then take place repairing the road deck on the westbound Snake River bridge adjacent to the Declo Interchange. Traffic on I-84 in each direction is reduced to one lane over the eastbound Snake River bridge for about one mile from milepost 215.5 to 216.5. A 65-mph speed limit and 12-foot width restriction remain in place for through traffic.

Traffic entering I-84 will be detoured from Exit 216 through Rupert via Idaho 25 and Idaho 24 to the Heyburn Interchange at Exit 211.

The bridge work was added to the I-84 rehabilitation contract with Knife River Corporation Northwest of Boise. The bridge work is expected to be completed in mid-December.
