Automobile crash knocks out major traffic signal in Hailey
SHOSHONE - An early morning automobile crash knocked out the traffic signal at the intersection of Bullion and Idaho 75 in Hailey, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

One of the four signal poles was sheered off, causing the system to go down. The remaining signals are running in flashing mode and temporary stop signs have been posted at the intersection.

Repairs could take up to two months while the concrete foundation is replaced and a new signal pole is manufactured. The transportation department is also researching other options, including the use of a portable traffic signal.

Motorists are urged to use caution as they travel through the intersection due to increased traffic congestion.
