Middleton Road projects open to traffic
MIDDLETON -- Two road improvement projects in Middleton -- widening a third of a mile of North Middleton Road from Idaho 44 to Mill Slough (north of Main Street) and realigning a short section of Cemetery Road, from Idaho 44 to 3rd Street -- are substantially complete and the routes have reopened to traffic, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Work was finished about one month ahead of schedule. Crews will remain in the area completing final tasks through December.
Nampa Paving & Asphalt Co. is the contractor on the $884,000 combined project.
North Middleton Road
The 0.3-mile section of North Middleton Road between Idaho 44 and the south side of the canal bridge, just south of Mill Creek Elementary School, was widened to include one lane in each direction, a center turn lane, sidewalks, curb and gutter.
South of Mill Creek School, pedestrians can use a new crosswalk at the intersection of N. Middleton and Main Street, where new sidewalks and pedestrian ramps were installed.
Cemetery Road
A 0.15-mile section of Cemetery Road has been realigned, extending from Idaho 44 to 3rd Street. A section of Cemetery Road off of Idaho 44 has been converted to a residential cul-de-sac called North Highland Court. All new road sections include curb, gutter and sidewalk.
