U.S. 93 Salmon Falls Creek Canal Bridge work begins Monday (Sept. 26)
SHOSHONE - Crews will begin expansion work on the U.S. 93 Salmon Falls Creek Canal Bridge near Hollister on Monday (Sept. 26), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. Flaggers will be used occasionally to direct motorists through the work zone at milepost 25, about two miles south of Hollister. Motorists can expect intermittent delays of up to 10 minutes. The speed limit will be reduced to 50 mph. Vehicles will be limited to a maximum width of 14 feet through the construction zone. This is the second phase of a project to replace the existing bridge in conjunction with future widening of U.S. 93. This stage of the $1.6 million reconstruction project is expected to be completed by February. Idaho Construction Co. of Kimberly is the project contractor. Motorists are reminded to slow down in highway construction zones. This ITD project is also in cooperation with the Idaho State Police, where a patrolman will be present at the construction site to monitor and enforce speed limits as part of Idahos enhanced work zone safety program.
