Slope stabilization project to scheduled Sept. 26-30 on U.S. 12 east of Lewiston
LEWISTON - A slope stabilization project to control erosion on a half-mile segment of U.S. 12 east of Lewiston will begin with the installation of traffic control Monday (Sept. 26), announced the Idaho Transportation Department. Crews will improve a steep slope next to the highway between Lenore and Orofino at milepost 26. Traffic is expected to flow uninterrupted through the area by shifting one travel lane to a passing lane. No delays are expected, but motorists are advised to watch for construction barrels and cones in the area and to drive with caution. The maintenance project includes the introduction of vegetation seed mix to the steep slope on the south side of the highway. Work is expected to be completed by Friday (Sept. 30).
