U.S. 20/26 west of Idaho Falls to close early Thursday morning for waste shipment
RIGBY - U.S. 20/26 west of Idaho Falls will close for two hours between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 29), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The Idaho National Laboratory will ship waste drums from the Radioactive Waste Management Complex to the former Argonne site, now the INL Materials and Fuels Complex, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The INL has been given permission to stop traffic on the highway to allow unhindered movement of the waste. The closure affects the highway between mileposts 266-276.
