Hearing officer issues findings in petition to intervene in U.S. 12 equipment shipments
BOISE - Opponents of over-legal loads that are planned to be transported on U.S. 12 have a right to contest permits for the loads, a hearing officer recommended today.
Idaho Transportation Department Director Brian W. Ness will review the recommendation of Boise attorney Merlyn Clark, who presided over the case, and will decide the final action of the transportation department.
Attorneys representing three U.S. 12 area residents, ConocoPhillips and the Idaho Transportation Department argued last Friday in Boise whether the residents had a direct and substantial interest in the permitting process.
