REMINDER: Public hearing will be held Dec. 7 for Shoshone bridge project
BOISE - A public hearing will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 7, to share information on the North Grape Street Bridge project in Shoshone, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The project includes replacing the existing one-lane bridge with a wider, two-lane structure to accommodate two lanes of traffic. The approaches leading to the bridge also will be rebuilt to match the wider bridge.
The public hearing will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Community Center, 201 South Beverly Street, in Shoshone. An open-house format is being used, with project staff available to answer questions anytime between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Displays at the meeting will show the proposed roadway layout, design options and geometry. A public hearing officer will be available to record verbal comments.
The displays are available for viewing. Those interested in seeing them before the hearing can do so by visiting the Riedesel Engineering offices in Twin Falls at 202 Falls Avenue.
Specific design aspects being considered include right-of-way requirements, property access, access locations and items needing to be removed or relocated (such as trees and fences).
Written comments on the project will be accepted until Dec. 22, 2010. Comments can be mailed to: Riedesel Engineering, Inc., 202 Falls Avenue, Twin Falls, ID 83301. After Dec. 22, the design team will work with the public to answer questions or resolve concerns related to the project design.
Those interested in attending the meeting and who may need special assistance or auxiliary aids for communications are asked to contact Aaron Wert or Josh Baird at (208) 733-2446 at least two days prior to the public hearing.
