Lane reductions on 11th Avenue Bridge, I-84 set for Tuesday and Wednesday
NAMPA - Beginning Tuesday (Dec. 7), crews will replace wire mesh on safety fencing along the edge of the 11th Avenue Bridge over Interstate 84 in Nampa. The work will require lane reductions on the bridge and I-84:
- 11th Avenue Bridge: The bridge will be reduced to one lane, with flaggers directing motorists beginning Tuesday (Dec. 7) at 8 a.m. Work will continue during the daytime and overnight both Tuesday and Wednesday. Both lanes will re-open by Thursday (Dec. 9) morning.
- I-84: Traffic near the 11th Avenue Bridge will be reduced to one lane in each direction on Tuesday and Wednesday nights (Dec. 7 and 8) from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. while crews work on the bridge.
A protective coating on the mesh
protects it from weather damage and prolongs its life. The mesh is being
replaced due to issues that occurred during the manufacturing process.
The 11th Avenue Bridge
opened to traffic on Sept. 2, nearly a month ahead of schedule. McAlvain Civil
Constructors is the contractor on the $4.1 million project.
ITD
