Hagerman Rest Area reconstruction complete, opening next week
SHOSHONE - The Hagerman Rest Area, located on U.S. 30 south of Hagerman, is expected to reopen to the public on Monday (Jan. 10) following a six-month reconstruction of the restroom facility, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Enhancements to the reconstructed facility include an expanded restroom building that has eight restroom stalls and accommodations for family use, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant sidewalks, curbing and picnic facilities. An improved sanitary sewer system has been installed and an overlay of the parking lot has also been completed.

The original restroom facility was constructed in 1966 and did not comply with ADA requirements. The Hagerman Rest Area is a popular stop for travelers driving between Interstate 84 and U.S. 93.

Starr Corporation, of Twin Falls, is the contractor for the $431,937 reconstruction project. Reconstruction of the building began in July. Additional work to the grass and landscaping will be completed in the spring.
