Inspections and load tests on two Twin Falls-area bridges scheduled next week
SHOSHONE Bridge crews will inspect the Idaho 50 Hansen Bridge Monday (Oct. 3) and check load ratings on the U.S. 93 Perrine Bridge beginning Tuesday (Oct. 4), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Idaho 50 Hansen Bridge: Motorists should anticipate 10-15 minute delays while flaggers direct one-way traffic over the bridge. Vehicles are limited to a maximum width of 10 feet. The speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph. This process is part of a biennial bridge inspection to ensure motorist safety in accordance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards.

The inspection is expected to be complete in one day U.S. 93 Perrine Bridge: The University of Idaho and Bridge Diagnostics will perform load ratings, a process that determines the need for any updates to load postings and any repair recommendations, on the Perrine Bridge. Traffic will be reduced to one lane while crews place load sensors on the bridge.

The bridge will be closed intermittently from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. while tests are conducted. Motorists should expect delays of 5-10 minutes. The project is expected to be complete by Thursday (Oct. 6).
