Owyhee County roadwork on Idaho 51 and Idaho 78 slated for this spring
BOISE - A thin overlay will be applied this
spring to the existing roadway surface on two highways in rural Owyhee County - a 16-mile stretch of Idaho 51 from milepost 60 to the Snake River Bridge, and a
matching 16-mile stretch of Idaho 78 from Grand View to the junction of Idaho
51.
The contractor can start work anytime between April 4
and June 20.
The Idaho Transportation
Department advises that work is expected to last about two months, and during
that time one lane will be closed with a pilot car moving traffic through the work
area.
The work is necessary to correct cracking and roughness, and to preserve
the existing highway system.
Idaho Sand & Gravel, of
Nampa, is the contractor on this $3.4 million project.
